Why Everyone Is Building a Meta-Harness Right Now

Tuesday, Aug 4, 2026 11AM PT / 2PM ET / 6PM UTC
Presented by Juri Strumpflohner

If you're serious about AI-assisted development, you're already doing harness engineering. However, harness engineering is local and personal. You optimize your own workflow, usually specific to a harness, repository or project.

This works on a single developer's machine, but its hard to share and scale across an organization. Everyone ends up building their own, which blocks the shared momentum that lets the whole organization get more productive with agentic engineering.

That's why a new layer is forming on top of the harness: the meta-harness. It takes hand-made improvements and makes them systematic, harness-agnostic, and shared. It's like when everyone built their own stack on top of React until meta-frameworks like Next.js and now Tanstack emerged, making everyone more productive.

In this session, we're going the full arc: from harness engineering principles to meta-harnesses.

What You'll Learn:

  • What harness engineering actually is
  • Where hand-tuned setups hit their ceiling
  • The three shifts that define a meta-harness: manual to systematic, one harness to any harness, personal to organizational
  • A look at what a meta-harness is, including concrete examples you can find and use today

Who should attend: This session is for developers optimizing their AI development workflow and for platform teams and engineering leaders working out how AI agents should be used across their organization.

This webinar will include time for live Q&A and will be available to all registrants afterward as a recording.
